My first car is a 1992 Handa Accord and it is still running great. I would think you can get a mid to late model accord for 2,000. Check autotrader.com and kellys blue book.

i think that a toyota is a good car. maybe a model from the late 90s that way it doesnt look too crappy & they usually are extremely affordable & run pretty good too.

I've got the perfect car for you. It's a nice, clean, reliable 1995 Nissan Sentra GXE with 117,000 miles. First owner was an old woman and I am the second owner. I kept the car in tip top & always maintenenced. However, I was just in a low speed accident and it cruppled the hood and radiotor a bit. Well my suggestion of any car for a teen would be any used hondas, acuras, toyotas. Civics and accords are safe bets. Inexpensive, very durable, easily maintainable(I work on mine, hoping to one day become a hotrod builder).
ur first car should be automatic,cause its easy to drive ,my 1st was Mitsubishi Lancer 1999,its so wonderfull,and sport in same time.

Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla will be the best choice, reliable and cheap cars, and they are not that expensive to repair you can find a lot of parts in Junk Yard in case something happens, but I doubt it..
Decent, cheap, and reliable. I'd go with a Chevy Cavalier. They are cheap to buy, cheap to fix, good on gas, and you can trick it out, or customize it pretty cheap, too.
What about a wheel barrel?
Look for a Corolla... I put 300,000 miles on one and never had a problem. And I didn't have to junk it... someone bought it quickly as soon as I put it for sale. amazingly good car.
The best car for your dollar is the Subaru. The engine is extremely reliable. The body rusts the least of imports. The style is not bad. On ebay I have seen these go for under 2 grand in reasonable condition say '93 or older. I own an '82 subaru and it won't quit. When it does, I am buying another.
