Yea...I think it was called a model "A" ford.
where do you live?

go to a used car lot i wouldnt get no expensove car for ur first car young drivers might end up wreckin ands there goes ur insurance rates even when ur young ur insurance with be high but wreckin can make it go higher
I would recommend spending the money and buy consumer products. I wish I would have done it before I bought my first car, instead of after it would have saved me a lot of money and head aches. (do not get a grand am expecially not a 96, 98, not sure about any other years)
GET SOMEONE WHO KNOWS CARS INSIDE AND OUT DAD OR UNCLE MAYBE
SAFETY
GAS MILEAGE
MAINT SCHEDULE LAST OIL CHANGE REPAIRS ETC
PREFERABLY A DEALER USED CARLOT
if you can afford new: a honda, the damned things'll run forever with proper maintenance
if youre thinking about buying used: whatever you do. DO NOT go to a used car dealership! instead get a certified used car from a big name dealership, sometimes youll get some kind of warranty
I strongly recommend doing some homework. Doesn't sound fun but buying a car is a big decision. Go to www.nada.com and surf the consumer page. This page will allow you to compare vehicles and get sound professional advice. I also recommend looking at insurance rates before purchasing a car. As a 16 year-old, rates can be very pricey on "sportier" cars.

My first car was a Ford Focus ZX-3. I loved it.
For a young driver, something big and not fast and reliable. Consumer reports used to recommend the big Mazdas or Buicks.
Buy from a someone you know or have a mechanic friend inspect the car.
Don't buy 2 doors cars, you will be sorry after a few moths...

Stuck with a Ford Fiesta for one decade.
Go to consumer Reports or J.D. Power and Associates. See what they rate the cars. What stinks is that American made will get you nothing but problems. Honda and Toyota will run FOREVER. Even used ones with high mileage. You don't need to afford new w/ those cars. You can also buy warranties now on pre-owned vehicles that'll help in the long run. New cars lose their value the second you drive them off the lot and new does NOT guarantee no problems!!! Also, be sure to check the insurance rates out on anything before you buy it.
If you don't mind...buy something used, just in case you run into a problem and for practice. You will appreciate your new car in the future more if you start with a used in good condition car. But if you just want to show off, get the mini cooper...it is soooo cute!
