Question:
Does anyone know of a vehicle that is not too expensive to buy or run (gas) that has 4 wheel drive (preferred) or all wheel drive? I have a snowy camp road to drive and it is not always plowed at work time...
Answers:
I had a Subaru Legacy a few years back that was a great little car... AWD with a 4 cylinder engine and 5-speed transmission. Got 30 MPG on the highway, and a lot of fun to drive in the snow.
Other Answers:
The Ford Escape or the Escape Hybrid.
I like my Chevy Tracker. It's 4 wheel drive, handles well and gets between 28-30 mpg.
subaru all the way. outback legacy best mid range car. great in the snow. extra few thousand, see you in an impreza, not as 'family orientated' but fun to drive.
volvo often a good choice too, since they are designed in sweeden! so snow is no problem. but, in the US cost a fair bit.
How about a Subaru Impreza, Jeep Liberty, or Suzuki Grand Vitara? AWD (4WD in the case of the Liberty and Grand Vitara) and they're all affordable. The Liberty isn't that great with gasoline though
