I have a 2000 Honda civic DX..it has almost 93k miles on it...if your's is an older Honda..How many miles does yours have? I know they last for a long time...just wondering..or did it die at any certain miles if you did own a honda?
Answers:
If you regularly maintain your Honda engine it`s should last you a good 350,000-400,000 km.Just remember as a tip that you must change your timing belt & water pump @ the same time from about every 80,000-100,000 km.Those are ever important on those cars.

my friends 99 civic ex has about 200K miles on it and he drives it like it was stolen so as long as you keep up on your maintenance (oil changes, filter changes, etc...) it should last you a long time.
If you want longevity, then check this out. My uncle had a 1976 Honda Accord that he bought brand new. He practically drove it into the ground, having taken several trips between Philadelphia PA. and San Antonio TX. The car was from an era that had manual chokes and a set of points. He finally sold it after having to go to California to get a master cylinder for it because all of the places he'd called in TX. couldn't locate a replacement. The guy he sold it to is still driving it.

The Civic is one of the best cars ever produced....the Italian guy gave you some great advice....change your timing belt every 100,00 miles and remember to change your oil every 3000 and you are going to be hard pressed to kill that car.
