is there a way to connect my ipod to my car stereo in my new focus?Stereo radio/CD – Model 6000CD?

Question:
i think the dealer is trying to bluff me with a fm transmiter job but there crap!

Answers:
There are headunits out that plug directly to you ipod and while connected you dont have to touch your ipod. yoyu can browse/change songs through the head unit.

Look for them to say iPod ready like on the bottom at the product description.

There are cheap f/m transmitters too. I personally use this one. http://shop.fye.com/product.aspx?sku=202487037&loc=50244
I bought it from fye. it plugs into you car lighter and transmits throught the radio. Sounds like cd quality. I never had any problems with it. But what I like most is it fits any ipod perferctly cause it has interchangle plates and the fact that it sturdily hold my ipod and I just press the keypad as if it were a headunit.

I've got 6000CD too and dont think you can do it.

Yeah, but please don't do that, you'll blow your ears right off if you don't burn up you ipod doing it. It's a whole different type of electricity. I'm sure there are adapters though. Be careful. AC and DC and battery operated things don't mix without adapters.

All our grandchildren are going to be deaf. I don't think its possible unless you have on older radio and cassette player. Then you can get an adaptor to fit in the tape deck.

Yes the FM modulator is one way to do it. However, you must continually change stations when traveling.

If your radio is pretty new there is a more efficient way to connect.
Most radios now come equiped with red and white A/V jacks either in the front or back of the radio.
At any stereo shop you can pick up a direct line A/V connector.

This will have on one end a plug that will plug into your audio out jack.

The other en will have a red and white a/v plug that will go into your A/v jacks on the radio.

Look at your radio manual, if you have them it will tell you where they are and how to use them.

If it didn't come supplied with them then your only resource is the modulator since you do not have a casssette deck.
