Yep, definitely an OnStar problem. If it is always in phone mode, there is something wrong with the OnStar VCIM. Have a GM dealer scan it for you. Assuming you have less than 36K miles on your car, it should be under warranty. If not, you'll spend about 80 bucks +/- to find out what's up with it.

I believe that is related to your onstar. If you have a button on your steering wheel that looks like a face with a x through it press that. Otherwise it would be the white button on your mirror. If you don't have onstar on your car I've never seen this happen before. Maybe chat with a local GM garage and see if they have ever delt with it before.
