Question:
Hi, my husband has a 2004 Chevy Cavalier Sport and he is trying to install an amp and subs. He cannot get into the dash to get to the back of the factory cd player to run RCA wires. Has anyone else tried this on the the same year and model car? We have tried to loosen or remove every bolt we can to get into it without any luck so far. I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks a lot!
Answers:
HE DOSENT NEED TO GT BACK THERE. HE CAN INSTALL A LINE OUTPUT CONVERTOR,AT THE REAR SPEAKERS. I OWN A 2000 CAVALIER AND IM PRETTY SURE THE DASH COMES APART THE SAME. I HAVE PERSONALLY REMOVED MINE SEVERAL TIMES WHILE INSTALLING MY RADIO,EQ,AND REMOTE START. SO I KNOW HOW ITS DONE. LET ME KNOW IF HE STILL WANTS TO GO BEHIND THE RADIO, OR IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THIS.
Other Answers:
It's easy. He has to take the face off from around the cd player, usually they just pop right off or have a hidden screw or two.
You shouldn't have to do anything from behind. Once you get the face off there should be screws or clips that you take off and the cd player will pull right out of the front. Then hook up the wires into it. try getting a hline adapter for high to low inputs so you don'have to go into the back plus, the factory radio doesn't have rca preout's on the back. only aftermarket have them. but there should be manuals online to be able to tell you exactly how to get the radio out. got probs mail me.
