how do I install Sirrius or XM into my 2004 Nissan Murano SE? Does it need to be done by the dealer?

Question:

Answers:
First of all...My vote is for XM over Sirrius. I have been with XM for 2.5 years and I love it. No you dont have to have it done at the Nissan Dealer. You can buy a car kit to install an XM roady2 or the like and install it yourself without any trouble if you are handy enough to change your own oil or install a light fixture in your house. If not, installation is usually VERY reasonable at any of the 'custom' stereo stores where you purchase the equipment. Installation should cost only 50-70 bucks plus the cost of the equipment.

Other Answers:
Get a car adapter kit that is sold with the radios( sometimes as a package) it works by tuning your car stereo to a certain frequency.
The dealer will be the most unhelpful place to go for installation. It can be done on your own, but I personally recommend having it done by a local car stereo dealer. It is well worth the money (usually no more than $50-$60) to have it done by someone who knows what they are doing. Ask around for the best prices, some will cost more than others for installation.
