Question:
I have a special construction heritage Softtail the Carb began flowing fuel out of the overflow on Sunday. I took it apart and saw the Left fuel intake valve was cracked. I went to Bartels and replaced that part as it had been superceded with an all brass piece.Once it was on I pushed it to the street and tried to start it but the fuel now flows out elsewhere. Is this a common problem ?Could the problem be in the floats? I dont know what to do at this point so any suggestions would be great.

Dont make the same mistake as the last guy, just go out and get an S&S carb and don't forget.....Injection is nice But I'd rather be blown.....

My carb did the same thing after about 600.00 spent on trouble shooting found out that i was just running to rich. Try running leaner
dont make the same mistake as the last guy, just chuckit and get an efi kit, probably less than 600! worst case take it to the dealer lol
s&s bite, that is if you like ridin and not messin with the carb because the mixtures constantly out of whack
The problem could be the float valve and or seat is clog, restricted or damaged. You can get a kit at you local dealer or on internet. You more than likely have a CV carb which is a great carb, but you might even buy a new one on ebay. If you actually have a damaged carb body you are better off replacing it.
